Public policy advocacy is a powerful tool to help nonprofits fully realize their missions. Successful policy advocacy organizations speak from their values and have a program for involving and educating their volunteers, staff, and constituency. In this course, you’ll get an overview of successful advocacy models; understand advocacy “tools”; learn the basics of advocacy campaign planning; and develop an initial plan for creating or strengthening your organization’s infrastructure to effectively engage in public policy advocacy.
This course counts as a Key Elective course under Board Development/Governance for the Certificate in Nonprofit Management effective September 1, 2011.
